GCPR Logo. Make a difference. Bridge the gap. Put knowledge into action Environment, Ecology, and Energy Program, MS Student

My name is Kristen Viera, and in the fall of 2021, I joined the Environment, Ecology, and Energy (E3P) program to pursue a Master’s in ecology. I am particularly interested in socio-ecological issues pertaining to sustainable city designs, agricultural practices, and the development of human-environmental relationships. This research connects to participatory research because, in order to find solutions to many of the socio-ecological injustices faced by communities, those communities need to be equitably involved in the research process. I am taking ANTH-897 to learn and understand community-based participatory research methods so that I may best apply them to my research methods during my master’s program and beyond.
